Normally I'd scrunch my nose at news of a new turn-based JRPG, but in Vanillaware's case it's almost certainly a step up from the impossibly shallow beat-em-ups they've been doing.
At this rate, my PSP RPG pile of shame may take 20 years to clear.
Grim Grimoire was fun, so I'm excited!
I still don't trust them, but it does look pretty.

I've passed on their other stuff because of all the meh gameplay stories.
This, like them, looks pretty rad.
I have almost bought their other craps a few times when I saw it cheap.
I've only played Odin Sphere, but its "meh gameplay" is no worse than many other games plenty of us endure for assorted reasons. The visual and audio design is quite special and not to be missed, even if just as a rental.
The game penalizes the player for being good at action games. That's pretty fucking horrible.Quote:
