Clash of Heroes HD - XBLA/PSN Puzzle-RPG

I think I was one of the three people at TNL who played Clash of Heroes on the DS. It may look generic or dull but no no nonononono. There's a brilliant puzzle RPG thing in there and it's not nearly as luck-based as Puzzle Quest.

It was developed by Capy (Critter Crunch for PSN and Sword & Sorcery EP for Ipad).

Anyway, it's out on XBLA and PSN this week. All of the content from the DS release + high-resolution art, rebalanced units and items, new multiplayer modes, etc.

That looks awesome, and Puzzle Quest (not PQ2) is probably in my top 5 XBLA games. $15 is too much though, being this close to Mortal Kombat.

I have it on DS. It is awesome, but I'm not spending $15 to play it again on my TV.

I don't pay $15 for any XBLA game, not when they're put on sale for half price a few months later. They always end up on sale.

I want it on the ipad. Seems like it'll work great on it too.

I expected the usual lol15 stuff. To anyone not turned off by an arbitrary price ceiling on downloadable games, there really is a lot of content here. If you're awesome like me, you'll probably love it.

I'll probably rebuy since I never finished the DS version. And by the time I got back into it, the HD port was announced.

This looks exactly like the sort of game I'd be all for. I had heard about it on DS, but never got around to it, so seems to be the place to start.

The graphics look great, but the rebalancing could be the real gem on the port. I recall how busted the DS Puzzle Quest was, especially having played it after the XBLA version. Absolutely not satisfying to break that game with all the near-infinite loops you can build.

From what I've seen in the past, the gameplay looked a lot like Magical Drop. Is there any truth to that?

God I love Magical Drop. But aside from the vertical orientation and focus on combos, this is entirely different. It's fully turn-based, for one.
