One fun thing that only people who studied logic and philosophy will get:

Frog's evidence for this being a clone is actually based on induction and circular reasoning: the present is like the past because in the past the present was like the past. That's not to say at all that he's wrong, but I found it funny that illogical evidence was still better than anything Yoshi said.

Where did you go to school that you didn't have to take a philosophy class? That's a prerequisite in basically every UC school.

Also common sense is a stupid phrase as most of the things called "common sense" are completely fucking wrong. For thousands of years the Sun orbiting the Earth was "common sense".

And you're talking about "common knowledge," not "common sense." The latter involves logic, while the former is just what people think they know.

Actually the Sun rotating the Earth fell under both the "common knowledge" and the "common sense" umbrellas.

It was "common knowledge" in that nearly everyone "knew" it but it was also argued as "common sense" by scholars for thousands of years because it didn't make sense for us to be orbiting it when the only explanations for how we could involved us spinning at a speed of thousands of miles an hour and that just didn't sound right in a "common sense" kind of way. One of the first people to give a solid arguement for the Sun being the center of the Universe was Aristarchus and his critics said it was illogical think that we were spinning around at a thousand miles an hour; they also said that there was no way stars were a million miles away. All of their arguments were based on common sense and all of them ended up being terrible wrong. "Common sense" is also why almost everything Plato, Aristotle and Socrates thought about the Universe and Matter was completely wrong.

I'm not sure I'd call developing science "common sense" but I understand the point you're trying to make.

What's your beef with philosophy? It's a great discipline. It teaches rigor and precision in the mind and language. Many great philosophers were also great mathematicians.

I'd rather discuss issues with a philosopher than an economist, that's for sure.

My philosophy professor is a lawyer. It makes for a really interesting class.
