The thing that gets me about their DRM for disc-based games is that it combines the worst of digital and physical media: you lose the games if somebody steals the discs and pays the fee, but you can't simply lend a game to a friend because it's locked to your account.

Not only do they force you to buy Kinect 2.0, but it's required for the system to function. That's both an intentional terrible design and an additional point of catastrophic failure.

I hope that's not how it's set up.
Ideally, you'd buy the game, install it, then pass the disc along to a friend who could install it and get their own license for less than retail price.

I can't belive it but this gen I won't be getting one of the available systems.

PS4 and WiiU are going to be what I eventually own. Crazy.

Yeah, it couldn't work like what kedawa said or you'd have massive group buys where 20 guys buy a game for $60 and a $10 or whatever license fee for $260 total instead of $1,200 total. No publisher is going for that.

It doesn't have to be $10,, though, it could be $45.
The $15 being 'lost' is irrelavent since there's no cut going to retail.

Then consumers would lose their shit, because the $45 would never have to go down. Imagine buying a used game at GameStop and having to activate it for $45. Either way, it would cause a shit storm.
