Gun Lord (Neo-Geo & Dreamcast)

NG: DEV Team has updated their Gun Lord teaser site with some new pictures. The game could almost pass as Turrican 4 if it tried. "Jump. Shoot. Explore.", says the slogan at the bottom of the page.

In the 1st shot, there's a bunch of gems and the main character is shooting a multi way shot similar to Turrican. To the top right, another picture shows a flame shot that could be the "Surround" weapon. The BGM played on the page reminds me a little of Chris Hulsbeck's stuff.

Day one, damnit.

Someone could release a new turn-based X-COM on Neo Geo & Dreamcast and I still wouldn't buy it.

Now if this was on a reasonable platform...

I'm sure a PC could run the disc with an emulator (it's probably just MIL-CD, since GD-ROMs are no longer made), so Dreamcast doesn't seem too unreasonable.

Yeah, but c'mon. There is no reason to not do a PC-native version.

Like we all don't have two DCs at least somewhere in our house.

Looks dangerouly Euro, but I'm interested as long as none of the usual Euro shenanegans show up like reversing jump and shoot or pressing up to jump.

Pressing up to jump is the superior method for superior people.

Seriously, though, that looks pretty sharp. I wasn't wild about Last Hope, but I'll give them another chance with this.

That's one of many obvious flaws this game has, and Europe was likely the root of all of them.

Actually I love that idea. Make a Neo-Geo emulator complete with scanline/RGB/resolution options (license MAME or FBA for a custom build), and put a ROM in the package that uses a different format than MAME/FBA. There may be a licensing issue with the Neo Bios though- but I don't think SNK would want too much cash for that.
