My JAMMA unit
How's that for a straight-forward title?
I know there are a few people here either into or interested in getting into PCB gaming, so I thought I might give everyone a quick peak at my latest toy:

Click on any picture for larger, higher detail versions. This unit was not built by me, but rather by a fellow named Matt (link back up!) whose custom electronics and modification skills are the stuff of legends.

Quick run-down of all the buttons, switches and knobs on the front panel from left to right:
- Power Button
- 1P and 2P control input (Neo Geo-style male DB-15)
- Operator controls. From top to bottom: test, service, tilt and select (for Neo Geo multi-slots).
- 1P and 2P insert coin and start. And yes, they are as fun to press as they look.

Sorry about the fuzzy picture. On the back of the unit and in no particular order:
- Video outputs: composite, s-video and, of course, RGB.
- Audio out.
- Toggle switch for turning the unit's internal speaker on or off
- Toggle switch for selecting mono or stereo output
- On the very left-hand side, somewhat obscured by the jamma cable, are two fuses on the off chance a PCB draws too much power.

Control comes courtesy of two modified Saturn pads: the only way to fly. Complete with styrofoam dust and a single cat hair in this particular picture, but never mind that.
Buttons A-C correspond to the same on a standard JAMMA set-up. In the middle are switches that allow me to toggle between regular and auto-fire for the aforementioned buttons. X, Y and R mirror A-C but have no auto-fire function, enabling use of both auto-fire and 'charge' shots. L button inserts a coin and start is just about what you'd expect.
And that about covers it. A few more pictures for those interested:

You son of a bitch!
Tell me how much you paid for that dream!

I'm hesitant to dispense specific figures... But let's just say more than what it would take to build it yourself, but significantly less than what the somewhat dodgy non-custom units from someone like MAS or Raven go for.
-
You're gonna' have to email me, and tell me where you got hooked up with that. I need to get myself an arcade solution; I'm sick of using my boards at a friends house...

Please?

It's a thing of beauty. Thanks for the low down.

Nice setup. 70's sci-fi cabinets 0wn =)

Mode, I was with you up until the "Sega Saturn pad" part. You mean to tell me you don't rack up those scores with a stick?
-
Aye. Try manipulating your favourite stick controller with only your nipples to get a rough idea of how well I play on one.

Man, those look like some really pressable buttons :) Anyway, congrats, looks like you got quite what you must've paid for :)
