I mean this movie was terrific... but does a sequel make sense with the rift closed? I assume anything after this initial release would be a watered down version.

ROBOT VS ROBOT
ROBOT VS ARNOLD
I love Dredd, but is it fair to say that it was a masterpiece in its respective genre? The Raid is one of the best action movies I've ever seen, and the same could be said of District 9 as far as sci-fi goes. Is Dredd in the very same league? Possibly, but for me it would be for more personal reasons, as I'm a big fan of the source material. Then again, my gf loved it too (one if the reasons she cited was the complete lack of misogyny, which is rare in an action movie), and she's never read the comic, so go figure.
Dredd is indeed a great flick, however, and I'm still upset that it bombed.
This movie looked dumb, but no dumber than the gazillion terrible superhero movies that make a ton.
Don't know why audiences haven't given it a chance. This is getting into John Carter bomb territory, though RIPD will probably make it look like Titanic.
As you know, I have hated most Superhero flicks.
This had some dumb shit in it, but you couldn't ask for a better popcorn flick.
My post wasn't even about me.
People line up around the block to watch every turd superhero movie, and, apparently, ONLY turd superhero movies. It's weird.
"Complaining about the character development in PACIFIC RIM is like complaining about the lack of linen napkins at a BBQ joint"
A robot hits a monster with a boat in this movie. A++++.
