Finally got a copy of this game. I connected and got into chatting with some other players (there were a whole 14 people online!) but didn't play since all the rooms were locked. It's nice to see that the servers are still up, but do you still have to pay to play?
I'm surprised anyone was there. Every time I tried to play, the board was empty. If you got into the net board, I'd say you don't have to pay to play.
i have the game.. haven't played online in forever though.. we should get some tnl games going.. just pm me if you want to play sometime
I bought the game last winter and played a ton of online, but a few months ago the servers were acting whack so I stopped playing and haven't played it since.
Perhaps we could set up some game times for this weekend?
BTW The game has always been free and will continue to be free until seganet shuts the server down.

Alien Front Online's server was up and running, until last month, when they pulled the plug. Daytona's Server was also up for a couple of months, but I don't think it is now. The games were both free online.
It's funny, because it cleary states on the jewel case that you need to have a credit card to pay for online play but when I didn't recieve a bill after a month of playing free I figured I had been duped by those wild N' crazy guys at Sega.Quote:

Edit: has anyone actually been online in the last few days because the last time I tried to get on (a month ago) the network option could not even be accessed from the main menu and I assumed they had just shut it down
i'm down to play this weekend whenever... preferably not between 5 am and 3pm eastern time.... a video game junkie needs his sleep hehe
i think all the non-visual concepts games are free..
i say, "take it all in while it's still free, cuz it's not gonna be that way forever"..
people had it good when everything was like that on DC.. the modem came packed in and there were no service charges other than your ISP..
now sega, microsoft, sony, (probably nintendo, too, if they ever get around to it) are gonna want to charge for online play..

Errr anyway, I'm up for some play, it's sad this game has been barren since launch, I'm amazed you saw 14 people online. And the game was down for two months earlier this year.
And they pulled AFO? Wow, I'm shocked, that game had at least 50-100 people playing everytime I logged on.
