I wouldn't be so sure about that. We still have no idea when next gen will come, and I don't expect a speedy adoption rate when it finally does.
I'm not real happy that THQ closed Kaos, I think they're a studio that had a lot of potential and did multiplayer very well. But they were no CryTek, and CryEngine is a very appropriate tech for this game, so if you have to get someone else to take the series over, they're a good choice.
If this game is on the PS3 and 360 as late as 2014, I'll be playing on my damn smartphone, which will run circles around them by then and output HDMI.
Has crytek ever made a good multiplayer game? Ill take Homefront or even Kaos' Frontlines Fuel of War over any Crytek MP. Hell Kaos is(was) made up of a lot of Desert Combat guys - that mod is legendary.
Apparently this is being done by Crytek UK. You might remember them as Free Radical. I think good multiplayer is more or less a given.
Weren't they doing Timesplitters 4?
