That's funny, because one of my friends keeps telling me not to get ActRaiser 2 because it's too easy. He claims he bought it when he was a kid, beat it quickly, and then sold it. Now I know my friend is full of shit. lol.

Maybe he was playing the easy difficulty. You can abuse magic and clear it pretty easily, but it doesn't let you play the whole game.

That could very easily be the case. I'll have to ask him about that.

I hated the overhead Sim City crap in the first Actraiser but enjoyed the soundtrack and platforming levels.

Didn't they get rid of the city building shit in the sequel?

Yeah, it's purely a side scroller. You still have a world map, but you don't actually do sim stuff.

I really like the city building parts, but it helps to play on an emulator so that you can fast forward when you're just waiting for the little dudes to do stuff.

I played through the retranslated game a while back and surfed TNL on my phone while waiting. Hurray technology!

I know this is an older thread but has anyone mentioned Whip Rush (Genesis)? I remember it being pretty badass.

Whip Rush is the bees knees. So is Actraiser 2..it's challenging but nothing as ridiculous as say, a Ghouls n Ghosts. The music doesn't hold a candle to the first, but it's still some good stuff. Visually one of the finer SNES titles methinks. You just have to get used to the controls and awkward magic system.
