Thanks for the help with getting me these Genesis parts guys. With Gohan's expansion port cover, and Some Stupid Japanese Names' AV cables, I won't have to worry about hearing back from this EBAY seller; especially considering that he hasn't replied to my e-mails yet.
I play most of my Genesis and MD games on a clone system that does S-Video. Surprisingly convenient and nice-looking. I wouldn't mind going all-out with RGB some day, but we'll see.
Doesn't that kill mesh/alternating line transparencies though? Genesis games leverage that heavily.
Anyone who plays old ass systems regularly should look into an RGB to component transcoder. It costs a bit of money, but works on most systems and cost about the same as having one system modded with S Video.
toy story.
I liked Lion King, honestly. Jungle Book on SNES was also kind of rad.
The only really great Genesis game that I can think of that uses mesh transparency that looks bad in RGB is Streets of Rage 2 when you are in the nightclub in the first stage, but it's no biggie. Definately worth the tradeoff, the composite video in the Genesis is especially crappy compared to other systems of the time.
