Trust me, it'll be a bodybag bonanza soon enough.
This game is rad. It's interesting how the tutorial is a lot longer than in the ridiculously short demo. The demo sells the full game short.
aaand the world is lost. Now to figure out how I want to play this next.
I lost three soldiers in one turn, and only two were killed by an alien. Thankfully, my sniper managed to kill the remaining alien with the last round in her rifle. Brutal game, just like old times!
God I love this game. Playing it alongside Dark Souls is keeping me in line, I think. Just gotta walk slow and keep my shield/overwatch up and hope for the best. Every time I send a guy sprinting just a little too far I immediately pay for it.
I'm on classic without ironman. Apparently all RNG is determined beforehand so I'm less tempted to cheese the quicksaves.
How long is the tutorial portion? I'm playing Classic, non-Ironman. I just hit my first alien crash site and the game is still leading me by the nose. Research this, promote that. I tried starting the game with no tutorial and it kicked me straight into an abduction mission, no handholding.
I do like the interplay between the green sweater guy and the scientist. She's pressuring you to capture live alien specimens and not use explosives, and he's squeamish about risking the lives of the soldiers. Classic XCOM dynamic.
The tutorial is actually pretty long. At least five missions plus the base stuff. It's necessary since the manual is so bare but you should definitely start a new game once you go through it. This has the added bonus of NOT automatically losing 3 soldiers in the first mission.
Are there any deals going on for this? I'm coming in completely dark.
nm I bought it on steam, here we gooooooooooooooo
