I have always been curious about Alpha Denshi's relationship with SNK since they made a good number of Neo Geo games like Magician Lord, Crossed Swords, Ninja Combat, Ninja Commando, Blue's Journey, World Heroes, Aggressors of Dark Kombat(ADK), etc.
Were they owned/bought out by SNK? Any info would be great.
Even pre-Neo Geo stuff of theirs like Time Soldiers was published by SNK although Sega's port only credits Alpha Denshi if I recall correctly.
Your thoughts?
They probably were bought out by them since they made some Neo Pocket Color games also.
ADK made Time Soldiers? I didn't know that. I've been looking for the Master System version for ages.
I really like the SMS version of Time Soldiers; it does the arcade version justice. I remember getting it for Christmas in '89.
I wonder if SNK may have owned the rights to the arcade game only. Romstar's US version mentions SNK on the title screen, unlike the SMS one. Similarly if you have Kyukyoku Tiger II on Saturn, you'll notice references to Takumi, but not Taito who published the F3 cart- and the F3 cart version has an "arcade game only" clause at the copyright screen.
ADK did have Sega as a publisher before that- in 1984 Sega published ADK's Equites. I'm thinking that they may have eventually merged with SNK- since Time Soldiers, all of their games between TS and Neo-Geo had the SNK label as far as I know (including Super Champion Baseball & Gang Wars).

Equites is nice looking from the pics I've seen. I have never once seen it in an arcade though. Did it even come out domestically? Is it any good?
