Master's Japanese Game Magazine Roundup [Week 1&2]

Recently I have had the good fortune of being relatively near a place that sells great Japanese Import magazines, among other things.

Anyway, I decided I would do a "roundup" of sorts and post some cover shots and minireviews of what is contained in each of the mags.

Famitsu PS2: Looks interesting. This is a monthly PS2 mag. I'll post some stuff soon if there is interest.

Famitsu Xbox: Same as Famitsu PS2, except Xbox. :)

Famitsu GameWave DVD magazine No. 21: This is AMAZING! Its a videogame magazine that goes in your (region-2) DVD player and plays movies and features from new games and such. So far I have checked out an AMAZING Tetris Grand Master video (the one that is circling around on the net came form this mag), a Capcom Vs. SNK for Gamecube how to play section (weird), Mickey's new game, a GBA rally game. More to come, this is great. I'm buying a subscription TOMMORROW!

Nintendo Dream: Greatest Magazine EVER. Ok, maybe not, but its hella cool. It came with tons of cool official stickers for memory cards, and such and it also came with a Memory card holder. The coverage is great, lots of screen shots, and it nicely mixes up Gamecube and GBA. Definitely check it out if you get a chance.

2 issues of Famitsu Xbox: Have yet to check these out. The Gun Valkyrie issue has a big rubber band around the spine that is holding a huge Xbox guide in the middle of the magazine. They didn't want it to fall out, or ever fall out apparently.

2 Issues of Dorimaga: Great magazine from what I have read so far. More to come.

If anybody wants to see anything: scores, covers, ads, stuff, my ass (HA, no), let me know and I'll snap a pic or scan it.

That Gamewave has a piece of Amano artwork for FFXI on the cover (hmm... ambiguous overdetailed artwork for a game with generic mix-and-match stylings... that almost makes sense) and was wondering if they had any more Amano artwork in there.

Also, any cool Megaman or Street Fighter artwork? Is there an uncovered picture of that GunValk cover, I haven't seen that piece of art before.

Finally, a scan of your ass.

anyone know if their offical US GC memory stickers.. could those rock.. maybe i should get one of those nindtendo dream mags.. it looks cool..

That is the recent PS2 port of Shikigami no Shiro. The
game's been mentioned on this board and is particularly
regaining some popularity on the Guinness Book of Records
board.

Some pics of scores from the Nintendo or Xbox mags would be cool. Cool pics, BTW.

That ad is actually for the Guilty Gear XX soundtrack which would explain why its only a quarter of the page.
