I don't think I'm top end anymore (not terrible or even average but not 'max stuff and don't give damns'). But you can look at games and say "why"
This game does not scream VRAM hog on the surface. The requirement DOES however scream "didn't care about the PC" (not that I blame them, PC gamers suck with the "will wait for HUMBLE BUNDLE")
Yeah, this mess with the specs definitely means I'm waiting to see how well it actually runs on PC. If people say my 760 handles it well I may grab it.

So going by score (I don't want to spoil anything for myself) most reviews from sources that aren't funded by a video game retail chain seem kinda lukewarm.

Considering some of these reviewers are probably the same ones who helped almost kill the genre ten years or so ago, I really don't give a damn what they say.
edit: Survival horror is not much different than (real) shooters these days in terms of reviewers not getting it.
I've played about 2 hours so far and the game really does feel like RE 4-2. The graphic style totally looks like it too. So far it's pretty good but the trial and error gameplay in parts is kinda lame. I also really hate the zoomed up close camera this game has like re 4 and 5. It's maybe even closer. It makes your guy look like a Muppet bouncing up and down when they run. Everything else looks really great, just the Muppet Effect is kinda distracting.
My copy of this game is waiting for me at home, but I still have to survive two hours of boring faculty meetings. I'm pretty damn sure this game isn't going to be as scary as listening to a bunch of over zealous English teachers drone on and on and on...and on...
If this truly is anything like RE4 though, I'm sure I'll enjoy it immensely. Reviews seem to be all over the maps these days. Most of the major releases have about a 75% average because video game critics can't seem to come to a consensus on any game lately.
Joystiq's review is practically a manifesto against the genre. They rail against it for being difficult, not having enough ammo, etc.Quote:

Does anyone if the censorship in the Japanese version is totally negated by the Gore DLC? By Japanese rating standards, I would think even with the DLC, dismembering parts are cut out.
