hmm well the only thing i know of that could do it is i beleive known as an X-neo1 made by the same people who make that xrgb2plus thing Micombsoft is it
it bassicaly goes into the A/V plug and converts the rgb signal to S-Video its meant for the neo geo but since the Neo Geo and Genesis Model 1 use the same A/V out pin outs and wires it should work with a genesis
the genesis by default does not put out an S-Video signal
you could also mod a Genesis 1 to put out an S-video signal my guess much the same way they mod a Neo Geo to put one out as i beleive they use the same video out chip (hell most the chips are the same in them the Genesis i beleive is bassicaly a neo with much less ram or something)
hell there was a guy selling a moded genesis 1 with S-video and stereo out puts on ebay but it was paypal only i would have bought it if it wasnt for that
maybe post on the Neo-geo.com boards ask there Jeff Kurtz i beleive is his name that does the Neo Geo mods maybe hed beable to help you with that
I was hoping there was some easy to find cable for it. I got the Svideo cable I use for Snes at Walmart. I also realized that the Gen3 has only mono output, guess I'll have to get a first or second model genesis.
sorry no easy to find cableQuote:

as the pin o uts for the genny dont put out an s-video signal
The Genesis 3 is indeed capable of outputting s-video, but the s-video signal isn't sent to the min-DIN plug for the video cable. The Gen3 uses the same video output chip as the PSX, and this chip has legs that output an s-video signal. So, if you can solder, you could attach a s-video cable (or jack) to the legs. More details are here:

Allright, thanks. I doubt I'll do that since I don't know how to solder, but I'll look into it.
Observation:
The free, uh, "aliasing" that RF provides makes the graphics of the 16-bit systems.
you can buy an s-video cable for the Genesis 2, but I've seen it being sold on ebay only ONCE, and it's an official product because it has the Sega box and everything. It went for fifty bucks and was bought by a good friend of mine...that lucky bastard. No mod or anything. He said he thinks he remembers the seller might have worked at Sega and grabbed the s-video cable out of a box that may have been prototype...not sure about any truth to that, but the s-video cable does work lovely and it does indeed exist. If anyone doubts my claim, for the 3rd time in different Genny s-video threads...simply email me for scans of it.
