Grinding: The Action RPG!
Which is apparently a genre I enjoy when done well.
I reached like a million hours and took a break after completing the main stories and a few of the jobs.
I'm planning on coming back in a few months and tackling the DLC which sounds like it is massive and awesome (like my diiiiii....).
This is literally a tiny little action-MMO in every way.
It's a lot of fun and really cute. Expert paladin as well as every gathering and crafting profession.
There are certain things I'm very annoyed they didn't do. Like why are the licenses all the exact same? At the very least, they should have done bronze = low-level, gold = high-level, sparkly gold = master, etc. Ideally, though, each license would be themed. For instance, the tailor license would appear to be made out of fabric. Then it would be, "oooh, can't wait to see what the next level looks like."
Also, uncrafted items should have question marks as their icons. Once they've been crafted, the question mark turns into the item. Would make it much easier to scroll down a long list and immediately see what you have/haven't crafted. Instead, you have to look at the little "Multiple" or whatever progress bar.
Speaking of these long-ass lists, why can't you scroll down them a page at a time with L/R or Right/Left on the +Control Pad? Or filter or sort them at all? These aren't advanced UI design concepts, guys.
Lots of little things like this throughout and similar issues are in past Level-5 games, so they're not learning. Disappointing.
Damn I forgot this game came out...
I've put 60 hours into this since buying it. It's a sickness.
I'm approaching 30 hours into Fantasy Life, about to head to Al Maajik, and I'm really enjoying it. Great game with so much to do, and at least from what I've seen so far, Level-5 did a sharp job designing each Life around similar gameplay mechanics.
I'm trying to bring my carpenter up to Hero to get better bows for my hunter. PITA
