What you are looking at is not from the newest Tom Hanks WW2 movie. These are from a recently found WWI german trench that was preserved perfectly after being covered instantly via an allied bomb blast. I think about 30+ German soldiers died instantly, many being frozen in time, like some kind of modern Pompeii.
And just to bring this back to tanks, this is the kind of shit tanks were invented to defeat. Until the tank, there wasn't an easy and humane way to defeat these positions. Your choice was either mutual slaughter or poison gas. Or you know, a lucky bomb hit.
