JRPGs

Tales of Vesperia was a great game. Tales of Graces F has mixed reception people love the characters but apparently the dungeons are terrible and short. Last Story and Xenoblade Chronicles are both amazing JRPGs,

You can probably pass on FFXIII. Last Story is really interesting though I never finished it, Blue Dragon is ok, it's fun to grind and learn skills. There's been a pretty serious lack of good class changing JRPGs on console unfortunately. The Atelier games are Atelier games, but I realllllyyy liked Atelier Totori, so it's on PS3.

This thread needs more Ni No Kuni and Demon's/Dark Souls.

Dark Souls certainly fits the bill, but I look at it as more of an evolution of western rpg design ala Wizardry.
When I hear jrpg, Final Fantasy and its ilk come to mind.
I fully expect Ni No Kuni to take the throne, once I can actually play it.

Yeah Ni No Kuni is coming, but it's not out yet.

It is possible to play them when at rest in your home.

Maybe.

When I'm home I'd rather the big screen. Also, handhelds are as expensive as consoles now. I can't spend that much and justify it.

I can only play them in small increments now, I have a habit of falling asleep when I play more then an hour.

Ni looks excellent, also telling of the condition of JRPGs on console, sold a sixth of what the DS version did in Japan.


Love Xenoblade, it's just hard to find massive blocks of time to get lost in it.

It totally was. Game was kinda average overall, but I loved the skill system. They were all these little mini-goals you were always working toward throughout the game. Goals are good. (Life is better with them, too, btw.)
