Dead Space 3 (PS3, 360, PC) Official Thread

Wow, no thread for this game? It comes out Feb. 5. I just played the special access demo on 360 (open to the general public on 360 and PS3 on Jan. 22) and it's pretty cool. This series is SO much better than Resident Evil.

The game is very much like the previous ones, but I like that type of gameplay. You can now build weapons from scratch with parts you find in the environment, as well as upgrade existing weapons. What I'm looking forward to most is the co-op gameplay.

Official site. Gamestop is giving an exclusive gun (EG-900 SMG) with preorders, and there are two different suit/gun sets ("First Contact" and "Witness the Truth") from other retailers for preorders as well. The limited edition nets you both bundles.

I am all over it. Origin, though. Origin won't even give me my login! It tells me it sent my PW to my email but it isn't there.

I really have no interest. The second game was excellent, this looks like too much of a departure.

I got the special access demo as well, but I haven't tried it yet.

I too am scared about what the third game brings to the table. It feels very much like what Resident Evil 5 tried to do: Take what was outwardly successful about RE4 but completely fuck it up with ham-fisted Co-Op and more "ACTION" than "HORROR." I really hope this isn't the case with Dead Space 3.

Also, how many times can Isaac Clarke go nearly mad fighting off a horde of necro dead things and not just say "you know, fuck it, let someone else deal with this."?

I have played through both games and I still don't know WTF the marker is. I feel like they changed it for the 2nd game.

Really excited for this, gotta check out the demo.

I don't either. I don't claim to be tied up into the story arc. But I did love the first two games.

There's more than one marker iirc.

The demo played exactly like the other two games, and it doesn't seem like they've gone more actiony than survival horror. Granted, they always tend to put the best parts for demos, so the actual game might not be so much like the other 2.
