Disney CEO Bob Iger has confirmed rumors that there are indeed standalone Star Wars movies in the works in addition to the next Star Wars trilogy.

In an interview with CNBC, Iger said the studio will make different Star Wars solo films during the same time frame as the new trilogy will be released.

Iger would not confirm, deny or comment further on any of the Star Wars characters who might get their own standalone movies. Everyone from Yoda to Boba Fett to a Seven Samurai-style Jedi team film have been rumored as candidates for possible Star Wars spin-off movies.

Boba didn't originate there. He was in the worst TV thing ever (although in the only watchable part of it all).

Also, at some point down the line someone needs to adapt Karen Traviss' Republic Commando novels into a movie or TV show. That was my absolute favorite series in the whole extended universe.

Supposedly Joe Johnston (the Rocketeer/Captain America guy) has had a Fett movie rattling around in his head for years, just waiting on the okay from Lucas.

Just put some CG on the Rocketeer and you're done.

Come on now. You honestly think I don't know that? In terms of the movies, it's where he started. Remember you're talking to the guy who likes to pretend the EU doesn't exist for the most part.

Whar EU? There were the excellent Thrawn books and that's it.

You know where the EU really shined? In the Tales books. Tales of the Bounty Hunters, Tales from Mos Eisley Cantina, etc. There are some great stories in those books...

And some TERRIBLE ones
