I like these sort of games. Especially if the details make sense thematically with the characters (as best they can within the framework of game mechanics). If the DS version was any indication, maybe I'm remembering the NGPC games overly-fondly, but this seems like a great fit for mobile OS.
If the system was built up more like Culdcept and less like DS Cardfighters, I think that would be change for the better.
The NGPC game was infinitely more fun than the DS one.
I haven't played them recently enough to explain why exactly, but it's true.
One game paired good game mechanics with nostalgia and fan service.
