I was looking over the list, there are some good games in there! I think I'm going to stick with games I've never played before:
Megaman Legends
Half life
F-Zero X (does anyone have a cheap copy to sell?)
I may play some Descent Freespace if I have some time. I've played it, but not very far into the game, despite it being excellent.

This is a ridiculous year. Rather than picking an obscure title, people should pick one of the giant names on that list, to force yourself to play something you would never get around to because you've heard about it so much. Actually, now that I think about it I guess that could be every year, so maybe not.
Pokemon Stadium definitely didn't come out in 98 though. Red and Blue (and yellow) came out, in the states. the wiki is wrong there, which is weird.
I'm almost positive I played and beat heart of darkness, but its weird that I don't remember owning it, I'll have to check.
The idea of Thief was really appealing to me, but I think I only got about halfway through the game before, something didn't click. I'm leaning toward that but I'm not optimistic.

Xenogears!
Seriously though, I haven't played Suikoden II since it was new. This is a good excuse to dust it off and see how it's aged.
-
I guess i could try one more time to see if I can get Grim Fandango to run without freezing or losing sound.
-
I checked a Pokemon wiki and the US Pokemon Stadium was 2000 with the Japanese release in 1999, but there was apparently an earlier Japanese-only version in 1998 that was rather incomplete.
I'm honestly not going to play it either way. Now, Hey You Pikachu on the other hand...

I know I own Grim Fandango but I have no clue where it is right now...
-
After a quick glance I'm probably going after at least one of these...
- Mega Man Legends - Played the sequel, spinoff and the N64 port back when it was new but never played the original game on the PS1.
- Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines - I've played all the series except the first game.
- F-Zero X - Didn't own an N64 until very late in it's life-cycle and never got around to this one.
- LoZ: Ocarina of Time - Started it a few times in the late 90's and could never get into it. Maybe I'll find the 3DS version and give it one more shot.
- StarCraft - Somehow even thought I loved RTS at the time I never got around to this one for more than a quick skirmish
-
If someone finds a way to get grim fandango working on win 7 tell me how and send me a copy. I would like to play that again

Some other good choices of 1998 not in that Wiki:
Blood II
Body Harvest
Brave Fencer Musashi
Forsaken
Heretic II
Medievil
Myth II
People's General
R-Type Delta
Radiant Silvergun
Sanitarium
Skullmonkeys
Space Station Silicon Valley
Trap Gunner
Trespasser
The Unholy War
Vanguard Bandits
Wario Land 2 (just came out on eShop)
Xenogears
Not all these games are good, but they are interesting.

I think I'll go with either Commandos or Space Station Silicon Valley, depending on how easily I can get a copy of Commandos. Is it on GOG?
