p.s. I love this future we live in where I can be reminded of something, go to youtube, and it's already there and can be shared with others.

It always pissed me off that the only arcade stick for the Master System was left-handed. Couldn't they have made a switchable one or at least made one for right-handed people? It was a pain to use that damn stick.
It didn't bother me but I was coming straight from Atari 2600/7800 joysticks which I always used with my right had while pressing buttons with the left.
If I grabbed on today, it would probably feel weird.
I just used a 3 button Gravis stick that I originally bought for my Amiga. It was pretty fancy and had remappable buttons and adjustable tension.
A friend of mine had the SMS blockhead, and while it was okay, I preferred the stock pad.

I have that SNES ACII turbo controller pictured above and it's actually held up better over the years than most of my official SNES controllers. I have about three or four official Nintendo controllers in various states of brokenness.
ASCII knew how to make their shit last.
I'm pretty sure that's the best stick you could have gotten for the SNES without spending several hundred dollars.
The only thing that sucks about the ASCII pads is the short cord, which is easily replaced with one from a regular SNES controller.
Were the sticks like that as well?
