Why don't we have a thread for this clusterfuck?
Anyway, someone found a way into the debug mode. Among other things, it allows you to remove the time limit on offline usage. The saves are stored on the server side so you will have to reconnect if you want a permanent save.

I love when games journalists look bad and Arthur Gies really looks like an ass now.
ALSO: lol @ that guys city going from 100k to 15k

Nobody here cares about the game, thankfully.
I was looking forward to it - preordered and everything - but canceled. Now I'm just going to move on.

I had no interest in Sim City at all, but I've got to say this is one of the most entertaining soap operas in gaming. EA- "It can't run offline ever without being completely reprogrammed from the ground up!" Custmomer- *pokes debug mode* "How 'bout now?"

I broke down and bought the indian version for $27 before they closed that loophole.
and I'm okay with that.

Never buy a gave that demands an always online connection. Fuck that.

All this talk of Sim City has put me in the mood for some city-building. Any opinions on Tropico 4? It's $10 on Steam for the game and all expansions, which is pretty tempting.

Ubisoft sure did get Anno 2070 up on the front of Steam in a hurry.

That used to be always online too, but I think they removed it.
