I'm still in the mood to hunt souls, so I went back and started Demon Souls again. I'd forgotten just how much it and Dark Souls play alike. The control scheme is exactly the same, which is good for jumping right in, and I'm absorbed totally! I am finding it a lot easier this time around, but that's because I played like a schlub the first time. I beat the game without ever upgrading weapons or knowing how to roll or parry and riposte. No wonder it was so hard.
Loaded up my Onimusha 1 and 2 saves from 10 years ago. I thought I had finished both games to completion, which I had not. I barely remember anything about the games, so I got excited to play them again.
Finished Oni 1 with an S rank, to unlock the Kaede costume, got all fluorites and finished the Oni Spirits mini game to unlock ultimate mode. Short and simple, good game.
Started Oni 2 and its about 2.5 times longer, with tons of branching paths and a lot more to do. Really was an impressive sequel. I had only played through twice before, so I mapped out the story sequences I needed, and figure I can finish in 2 more playthroughs. I'm almost done with the first run, on hard mode, which will get me ultimate mode. Then I can use that to get the highest rank and + rest of the story to unlock the extra costumes.
I wish we could get an Onimusha HD compilation like many other franchises have, really enjoyed that series (and 1 was the first PS2 game I ever bought).
Aren't the backgrounds prerendered? That would be why we have not.
Castlevania III: Not as fun as I remember.
Bulletstorm: Not as fun as I predicted.

And now Grim Fandango. Played it once before on release. Shitty controls aside it's pretty goddamn awesome.
