I didn't know Squeenix was doing badly, apparently they are expecting an "extrodinary loss" at the end of the fiscal year. More interesting, the article states that Phil Rogers, former CEO of Eidos is being nominated for the job. For a Japanese company, that's nuts.
It's happened before (Howard Stringer).
They've done great with Eidos - Sleepy Dogs, Tomb Raider, Just Cause 2, Deus Ex, etc. Square, not so much. I still don't know why they are still spending money on Final Fantasy XIV.

Aside from any non square IP, this company has been shit almost the whole time Wada was there. The booth at PAX featured Tomb Raider and Thief heavily though.
The only good thing Square has done in the past 10 years is to buy Eidos
