Oooh yeah, I was.
Well there goes that.
I'd argue that it is actually about the baby boomers. About men that must live in the period after "men killed god, and removed magic from the world" during world war 2.
This is symbolized by making the catching of undead ghost common place, and culminated with the death of Zule (a god). The God is further mocked and shown to be ridiculous (A giant staypufted marshmallow man).
Or in simpler terms, it symbolizes the 80s in that miracles have become mundane and 'business as usual' in much the same way that having running water and the plumber that fixes it is 'business as usual'
I think it's about busting ghosts. You guys are jerks.
fiction can be about a lot of things
if we were college lit majors, we'd tell you it was about homosocial bonding and latent homosexual desires
"the proton wands are clear phallic symbols while the ghosts stand for the pressures of society and their failure to live up to them, aka skeletons in the closet. True mental and spiritual growth can only be achieved after destroying the last ghost (a sexy powerful woman) by crossing the streams (touching dicks)."
It's only gay if the proton packs touch.
Art ruins everything.
Bustin' makes me feel good.
