I stomached quite a few WW2 games. Crafting just is not my bag. I am surprised at the sheer amount of people that do enjoy it. I can see how there would be some set of people that do, but the numbers are insane to me.

I stomached quite a few WW2 games. Crafting just is not my bag. I am surprised at the sheer amount of people that do enjoy it. I can see how there would be some set of people that do, but the numbers are insane to me.
Crafting is a means to an end, in my opinion. It is not interesting in and of itself, but it can provide for great gameplay if the game forces you to make hard decisions related to it. Like if you're made to choose between two very different but equally valuable things to craft out of your limited resources, or balance the risk of going to an extremely dangerous place with the potential rewards of new materials.
Unfortunately, most games follow the Minecraft model where it is tiered and merely the way to gate the player's progression in order to prevent them from acquiring super powerful items within ten minutes of starting the game.
Rust with less interesting enemies.
Fuck crafting.
I refuse to play any game that has it.
