I actually find there's more Okami influence than Pikmin. You don't really need to micromanage your little W100s, not the way you would in Pikmin, but the game does have you drawing shapes to accomplish things, with even drawing cirlces around things to bring them back to life. Very Okami like IMHO.Quote:

Eh, I don't think it's enough to make the similarities between it and Pikmin. Climb attacks are just the general "punch" even if looks like a Pikmin thing. Like shinjohn said, you only need to ever worry about the leader, so the micromanagement of Pikmin doesn't actually exist. Which is for the best!
One of the attacks makes your people latch onto the enemies latch onto the enemies. Like Pikmin. It's Pikmin.
It's one attack though, and there's no managing different types of people to do different things. There's a mild Pikmin influence there, but the Okami and Viewtiful Joe influences are much stronger/deeper.

I really like the idea of Custom Blocks. It's almost like a custom talent build for your team. There's a block that lets you do SFIII/Revengeance style parries, a block that slows time when you dodge, one that drops a mine when you dodge, etc. Combining blocks that work well together can produce some stupid OP playstyles.
Just like Pikmin. Might as well call it "Pikmin 101".
I'm going to cry when Pikmin 101 bombs. The game looks and plays really nice.
This Edge review is exactly in line with my personal gut feeling about the game based on trailers and previews. However, Eurogamer liked it more, though it's an individual I don't recognize writing.
Every review complains about the touchpad. How disappointingly expected.
