I hear Retrovirus is pretty decent.

I didn't correct you because I liked the double meaning, but then Aaron did the same thing and I could no longer tell if it was still on purpose.
Heh heh heh.
I played a bit over half of this game and I'm not feeling it. The encounters tend to be locked areas with floods of enemies, which can be fine if the weapons and enemies work together interestingly enough (Serious Sam 3), but they don't here. There's very little variety in the enemies (this game introduces new shit at a crawl), and while they have some cool behaviors (cutting different arms off causes them to behave differently, etc), it doesn't matter much since they all get destroyed so easily and you've got health (in the form of pickups, enemy health pickups, regen spells) thrown at you 24/7. The weapons don't help alleviate the boredom since there are very few of them so far, they aren't very satisfying, and their upgrades aren't all that interesting save the few katana moves I got early on. And the settings are slow to change, too.
And all of this wouldn't be so bad if the game weren't so long, lol. At least in a compressed version of this game there would be a steady stream of new things to play with to keep my mind off of how samey the encounters are otherwise.
I agree with you. It grew on me and then it reverted to beh
Same. I liked the Rise of the Triad remake better.
