Low is confusing me, I don't even remember what Yoshi's point was.

He's talking about games that XSeed Published, after people started a giant campaign against Nintendo to bring these games over, where they acted like retards and said "We never say never, but no". Then he's talking about Nintendo published exclusives. Then he's talking about timed exclusives.

Yoshi's talking about Nintendo reusing assets in a game that's a refinement of another game and complaining that it looks like they're being lazy, or panicking right?

I think Low originally was responding to Finch, but since his logic was bullshit, I called him on it. But his story keeps changing, and his facts are dead wrong, so I can understand being confused.

To you I say, the reuse of assets doesn't make a bad game, just as refining or expanding upon a game does not. The inverse to, innovation doesn't just make a game a good game.

Assumed they were given Square's sad economic state, Bayonetta 2 is still Wii U exclusive so elaborate plz.

I suppose it'll all depend on whether games like The Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2, Sonic Lost Worlds, etc. all have enough of a cumulative effect enough to move more Wii U's and hopefully that's the case but given that Wii U has already lost Rayman and Deus Ex as system exclusives I wouldn't be surprised if at some point they lose some of those too. After all Sonic Generations made some good money being multi-platform so if it doesn't perform to expectations at some point there might be a port.

However it's not impossible that all of these 3rd party exclusives remain there, we've had situations like Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes and the Resident Evil remake where they've never been ported over.

I don't think Bayonetta 2 is going anywhere else since Platinum is looking more and more like a 2nd party publisher. But all you have on Nintendo right now is Nintendo, Ubisoft (third party!), Monolith (Nintendo exclusive) and Platinum (Nintendo Exclusive) Capcom!.

That's... not a lot of developers.

I never said it was bad, and both Edge and Eurogamer said it wasn't, but its announcement was very disappointing to me.

The discussion was about Nintendo developed titles. Bayonetta 2 is irrelevant, which is why I mentioned it as an aside in my original post on the subject.

Second party games are ones that a developer not owned by the platform holder develops for the platform holder to publish. So Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 are second party games. But the bigger picture is that Sega contracted Platinum for four games, and now Nintendo has contracted them for two. That's it.

But I think you are 100% correct that it's not going anywhere. I am sure that was part of the agreement.

It does remind me a lot of Capcom's Gamecube support which I found to be a boon for the system at the time even if games like Viewtiful Joe and RE4 were eventually ported over a hundred times.

Hopefully Nintendo does more with their other franchises even if it means having them developed by a 3rd party again so I'd love to see more of Wave Race, Starfox, Metroid, Earthbound, Fire Emblem, Sin and Punishment, Golden Sun, F-Zero, Kirby, Pokemon Wii U, Punch Out, Pilot Wings, some sort of Diddy Kong Racing sequel (or incorporate more of these into Mario Kart), just a lot of franchises that have sold well but Nintendo not having done diddly squat with some of them over the years just to play it safe with the same stuff.
