They really changed up most of the old returning tracks. They almost feel like new tracks with how much was changed.

I love that you get the credit for 50 and 100cc by playing 150cc finally.

I think jyoung's impressions from the demo unit were spot on. This might be the best Mario Kart, but it isn't as good as Transformed. The air and water parts are nowhere near as important, the courses don't change at all, and they even left in the annoying ass coins from MK7 that cause you not to get three stars if you get hit with lightning at the finish line of the fourth race of a cup, despite fishing first on all four races.

The one major advantage it does have is that progression is solely through racing and not all that other BS like drift challenges, boost challenges, etc. The reviews clearly are getting the typical 1-2 point bump for having a Nintendo logo on the case, which has been bullshit for 20+ years.
