They had collections on PC but I think it was 8 bit stuff only.

It has similarities to Sinistar but I mostly think of it in the subgenre of shooters started by Gravitar (mixing inertia based shooters like Asteroids with Lunar Lander) and popularized in Europe by games like Thrust. There weren't many on consoles; Solar Jetman on NES is another one.
