Earthbound is a kind of special Dragon Quest game. There's nothing better than that on any system, except Nintendo DS, which has Dragon Quest IX, only slightly less special than Earthbowds. So it could be better or not, i don't really know, but you only get to choose one or the other. Sorry.
Off topic, SNK fighting games have some of the best video game environs ever. Capcom had some really iconic stuff, but Sink's stuff RUINS it.

DmC has gorgeous levels with lots of amazing level design and environment effects seen in the amusement park, Limbo, and Mundus's building/offices. Halo 4's wider scoped levels had fantastic lighting and effects even if some of them weren't really truly lighted.
Also Deus Ex Human Revolution had an incredibly high level of detail in the environments like trash, household items, and the yellow/gold look of the city gave it a unique atmosphere. Oh and almost forgot, Forza Horizon's Colorado was great, kind of made me want to live there sometimes given how beautiful it looked.
LOL @ the Earthbound shit talk. I've never played it but I'm tired of hearing about how "magical" and "transcendent" that game is. Will try when I pick up a Wii U in a month for Super Mario 3D World (hell yes)
