I don't count videos, and an hour is plenty of time. Maybe I do suck, but the controls also do, regardless of how many posts you want to draw this out to be. I've never needed over an hour to get into a Mario game, and if that's the case with Sunshine, then tough shit for Nintendo, because half their audience won't wait over an hour to start having fun either.. I know why this wasn't the hit it was supposed to be now in Japan...

Im about 4-5 hours in and have 18 shines so far...

And to say you like or dislike this game based on an hour of play is silly, it gets much better the more you play...

2 of my friends, who basically arent heavy into gaming at all, picked up the game and within 5 minutes were pulling off wall jumps and hover jumps perfectly. The controls are fine.

Not a biggie, but did anyone look up in the sky of the city hub level and see the commercial airliner high up in the sky with the jet stream trail? Its little details like this that makes Nintendo, Nintendo. This game fucking rules. Believe it.

Put in Mario 64, played it. Put in Super Mario Sunshine, played it. Yep they both control exactly the same in every single way. All the moves are done the same, he runs the same, turns the same, its exactly the same. I don't see how anyone can say they control different, because they don't. This is not based on opinion, its fact. Me and several of my friends ran this same test and came up with the same conclusion.

That's if you're not taking into account the totally new FLUDD controls, which sorta make up a huge part of the gameplay...

Exactly, the game controls identical with the only differences being the water pack and the n64's shittier controller so if anything the better controller makes it easier...

Well I was refering to running, jumping, turning, wall jumps and such. The basic stuff. Hovering and Turbo Prop are different, but they control perfectly fine. But they were not in M64, just like how the hats are not in Super Mario Sunshine.

The fludd control couldnt have been any better...

If you have problems with them you are..

A - A vegetable
B - A momo
C - Havent given it enough time
D - You are hopeless and plain suck at games

The controls are exactly the same except wall jumps are now much easier to do. They were a royal pain in the ass in SM64, they're not bad in SMS.

I just cant get how people bitch about the controls sucking and think that Mario64 had better controls...

The GC controller is so much better its not even funny, that in itself is all the difference...
