Nintendo itself has used both in their ads. I guess technically the first one is official since they gave him an in-game voice but it’s just one of those names with various pronunciations. Lara as “Laura” is unacceptable, though. That’s a stupid mix up with another name entirely, not a regional variant.

Well, there's a French Canadian hockey player called Mare-ee-oh Lemiux.

But there's also an Italian race car driver called Mahr-ee-oh Andretti.

So I guess the pronunciation just depends on your local dialect.
