I'm gonna buy this
This looks like the game that I would have wanted and hoped Dragon Quest 9 to be.
I wish I could justify buying it now.
look they already announced the 2nd one before the 1st one came out in English http://www.dragonquest.jp/heroes2/
classic Dragon Warrior Quest
PS3 4 and Vita!
That's very odd.
Would love to have the first DQ Heroes on the XBO provided it's good but unfortunately the system hasn't been the place for all these cool Japanese games.
NO NO WRONG ONE STOP

Wake me when DQVII comes out for the 3DS stateside.
I obtained this game a few weeks ago and had my first clear of it last weekend. I might plow through the second replay to get to the third, which I've read a few places state as being the typical number of runs required to get the Platinum. Considering how relatively easy and enjoyable it was to get through once, I might get to it sooner than later.
If I were to state my biggest disappointment with it, it would be how much music is reused from previous DQ games. With how much of everything else is ripped straight from older content it might seem odd to fixate on this specific aspect for a complaint, but I was expecting the game's soundtrack to be something new instead of it basically being a Greatest Hits collection. What will be more visibly displeasing to other players will be the frame rates and camera issues, though the former is really only at worst in the hub areas for some reason, while the latter tends to only become problematic a handful of times with odd player positions and enemy congestion.
Beyond those issues, I think they managed to pull this concept off very well. The game very much feels like a new DQ game as opposed to being a DQ flavored Musou, and I say this in respect to how they integrated the sound effects, attacks, ability names, menu navigation (complete with the ability to return to the title screen after saving, as you would be expected to have asked of you twenty years ago), writing, and basically everything else. The sight of seeing a hundred slimes on a field does actually make them look a bit menacing, and the scale of the various enemies is well formed - it's interesting to fight against armored knights and zombies which are at least 150% of human size, as well as the golems and other enemies which are much larger than that.
I wish there was a more elegant way that they would have designed free battles to be played rather than it only ever being infinite enemy spawn (including specific enemy groups, types, and locations on the map you stand for them to reappear), and I wish they would have found a way for more of the missions to be offense based rather than nearly everything being a Defense mission. I appreciate the story for its conciseness, and the game's reliance on side missions as a means to prolong play time as well as give intrinsic benefits, but I fear that without the nostalgic attachment to the characters, this game may seem pretty basic and barren to the non-Japanese players.
I'm glad to have bought it and played it, but I'd have a difficult time blindly recommending it to others.
Anybody who doesn't buy this game gets punched in the teeth if we ever meet irl. ;) SE is apparently using it to gauge interest in Western releases for future main line DQ games.
No, I don't want yet another fucking Dynasty Warriors game. Fuck them if they want to hold good shit hostage behind that crap.
