The Pats time of possession in the 1st half had to of had an effect on the Atlanta D to have a pass rush in the 4th. They were gassed. Still, it made no sense for Atlanta to throw the ball once they were at the Pats 22 yard line. A couple of runs and a field goal and the game is over.

I'm surprised how many people have been like, "Falcons are a young team, they'll be back." Do they know how hard it is to win in the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE? Did they see Carolina's season? Or Arizona's? Or Denver's? It just makes NE all the more remarkable.

They're just as likely to miss the playoffs going 7-9.

I can see Falcons being competitive as most of the key guys are under contract. I agree with you, it is hard to get back to SB, especially in the more physical and competitive NFC. AFC still sucks.

Dallas beat the top 3 in the NFC North and the lowly Eagles curb stomped the Steelers as well. Who's going to put up a fight against the Pats in the AFC next year?

The Browns, obviously.

NFC East were a joke for years. Last year every team was competitive. NFC West was dogshit last year.

So I don't know. Except I feel good about saying it won't be the Browns.

I think Falcons have lots of upside but windows close quick.

Seahawks were the only team to beat the Falcons and the Pats this year.

The NFC East has more Super Bowl wins than any other division (until the Pats won their second on Sunday) in the league in the past decade. Yeah, those wins were by the (my much hated) Giants over the Pats. The NFC East will probably be the most competitive division in the league next year, unless Carolina gets back to form in the NFC South. The best teams in the AFC, outside of New England, have no quarterback to keep them competitive, and even Big Ben is considering retiring, because he knows his team's talent level is on the decline. Maybe Houston or Denver will acquire Romo, but who knows how long he'll last for the season.
