You like Kingdom Come? Cool shit.
:) Yah I like comic books. I have a small outdated collection. :( no money for it anymore. My happiest b-day was when in 4th grade I got the 9 hard cover, color Elfquest books. Oh god happy days.
(Dont tell anyone though)
shhh...
Do you have Marvels? Alex Ross art, with a few major Marvel stories retold.
actually I have this odd fixation on Superman... and Batman... (oooh sexy... yah beat the boy scout you tall dark and handsome .. er) so mainly dc ... If I had more Money I would go on a comic book shopping spree (oooh that would rock) and pick up a ton of titles. Kaneda has turned me on to a ton of good comics though... (The Watchmen, The preacher, Transmetroplian)
The first novel I ever read was a graphic one. The first book... "the death and life of superman"
(I am a sad sad girl)
Shh...
Everyone with a slight interest in comics owes it to themselves to read 100 Bullets. Hands down the realest and most honest book that gets put out every month. And I also recommend Top Ten for some hilarious police hijinks.
Top Ten is great, haven't gotten to 100 Bullets yet.
Alan Moore did a great Batman comic, The Killing Joke.
100 Bullets is easily the best comic currently coming out. But if you're at all interested in it, DON'T try jumping into the monthly comic without reading the trades first. It's layered with conspiracy on top of conspiracy, and 90% of what's going on will probably go over your head if you don't read the trades.
Killing Joke is a great Joker comic, but not much of a Batman comic. Moore did that on purpose, of course. The two best Batman stories ever written are Dark Knight Returns and Batman: Year One, both written by Miller. Miller owns Batman. Except in DK2, which wasn't terrible, but wasn't very good either.
Kaneda has good taste.Quote:
