Ah, a warm reception and replies with Kevin Smith. Could life be any better? As for the surgery, it was a HUGE success, I am recovering two months ahead of schedule, and all signs point to my vision being right around where it was at before the surgery, possibly even better.

Simply put, my left retina detached and I needed emergency surgery in order to prevent the detachment from getting to the point where it was beyond repair. I came within one day, literally, of losing all of my vision due to this.

Ouch, I feel for you man, that fucking sucks. But were you a day from losing ALL vision, or just your left eye? How'd that happen anyway, that has got to really suck, glad to hear your ok. Well I'm going to watch I Am Sam, it starts in 20 mins.. =)

My left eye is the only one I can see out of, so I would have lost all vision had that one gone out on me. Right eye has been dead since birth.

Ouch, seems like you've led a tough life. Must have been a sucky few days/weeks while your left eye was messed up.. Nothing I take for more granted than my vision, even if it is some wacked out number like 240, but that's what glasses/contacts are for.

This was actually a rather small bump in the road for me, I've been through quite a lot in my life.
