Not a single mention yet in this thread about Silpheed: The Lost Planet. THAT was Treasure's 2nd Shooter. Ikaruga will be their 3rd.
Also, word has it that Silpheed: TLP is not-so-good.
*This was not a Treasure-bashing post, just a point*

Dude, quit bashing Treasure. ;)
Back to the topic, I like shmups. Nuff said,
JM
I guess I am the only person who liked Silpheed: TLP, sure it wasn't the greatest shooting game ever but I liked some of the stuff it did and I thought it was fun :)
Plus how much design did Treasure have in that game, I ask because it is a Game Arts game and they where the main developer for that game.
Not a big fan of shmups, even though I like Treasure's games, but it's not my cup of tea. So I can't justify dropping $70 for it even if it IS collectible... the MGS2 premium pack on the other hand I would've killed for... :(
I lik shooters like Doom and Quake and Tme Crises so I thinkl I wil lik Igaraku too. And it has god graphix.
Silpheed was alright (maybe 6 out of 10 overall), the hype killed it.
it was still more of a GameArts title than Treasure IMO.
I like Silpheed: TLP too. Its a decent shooter, but too many people look way too crical at it :) Just relax and have fun with the game.
I still torn, between wanting to buy Icaruga now, or wait for later, and buy other games and dvds. !!!!!
VideoGame Japan site wantes almost $10 for Shipping !!! WTF !!!
I wrote to Working Designs, and they said it was it was pretty equal for both sides contributing. If anyone would like to dissect the credits (ala SnP) to figure out who was where with what, feel free.Quote:

That's rather because there's so many other good shooters out there, a merely decent one isn't really worth the time and money comparatively. If you've got some bonus time and cash to burn, sure, but with all the AAA+ stuff it doesn't really hold up.Quote:

I found Silpheed to be decent (more fun then I had with Gradius... I'm sure to get flamed for that one), but I'd rather be in my Cave. Ikaruga should help that a bit, however.
Silpheed: TLP was mainly gamearts, and they had a very short amount of time to develop it.
This thread is a perfect example of just how seriously some people take hating/liking something because of the manufacturer, and how idiotic they can make themselves look when they take it to excess.
Victrix, no one has to justify a thing to you. If they want to buy/play the game, for whatever reason, who are you to judge whether or not they're worthy of playing Ikaruga?
