I hate renting games, and for some bizarre reason, renting the game tends to lessen the experience (assuming I even take the rented game out of the box -- I often wind up not even playing them for whatever reason).
I can't say Turok automatically warrants a purchase, since it's a bit weird looking and a rough aound the edges. But, I'm having a lot of fun with it and I'm sure I'll get my $40 worth of entertainment out of it. That's what counts.
does the GC version support Progressive Scan i havent tried cause well i dont have an HDTV but id like to know

Even though few people here seem interested in Turok (and even less interested in this thread), here's one more tidbit from last night's Turok session: 3-BARREL MINIGUN! Hilarious. I think I've already gotten my money's worth.

Yes, it's 30 FPS. The game gets a lot better as you play it. I originally said my score would be 7/10, but now that I've played to near the end of Chapter 4, I'd say closer to 8/10. It's somewhat easy and boring at the beginning, but it does get better.
For someone who has all three systems...which one would be the one to play? I'm kinda figuring the PS2 out from the get-go, but I might be wrong.
ive played through more stages and id say im probably well past half way through with the game and its easily bumped up from a 6 - 7 out of 10 to a deffinet 8/10 i have to agree the game just keeps getting better and the weapons ohhh damn the weapons you get this is what makes the game soo much fun well part of it anyway
just crazy insane weapons you wont just be shooting your enemies in this game
dont even get me started on the little robot spider thing KICKS SOO MUCH ASS
me personaly id prefer a solid frame rate and ive talked to a couple other people who own it on different systems and theyve said similar things more plants and stuff in the Xbox version but theres times when the frame rate drops not bad but its there but the GC version has just a solid locked in frame rate it seems so far
so take your pic as which one you want me personally i like the solid frame rate more
Hero, the Xbox version is the way to go. Everything I've read suggests that. Also, I asked the guys at my local EB and they've played all versions - the Xbox version is the best. It has a slightly better frame rate and no pop up like the PS2 version has, among other things.
Anyone remember the FOV settings in Quake, where you could fish-eye the screen (go from the normal 90 degree cone of vision to something like 110) a bit to improve your peripheral vision? I was watching someone play Turok at EB, and the screen seemed too confined to me- made me wish the game had a FOV setting.
