I work for Rutgers Univ. in the Continuing education department. My assistant does all the 'fun' work: reserving classrooms, ordering books, choosing the catered food.
I have to do market research, budgeting, and course development. I just sit in front of databases, periodicals, and rosters.
Boring!

Customer walks to the other end of the alphabet, waits 6 seconds, and proclaims they can't find it.
Man, I hate people :mad: ... At least I could rent porn for free if I wanted :p
I work at a grocery store as a bagger... we get some stupid mulleteers, but I just do what's necessary and get along with the day.
I work for a videogame publisher. I play their games all day and then tell them what is shit. And a lot of it is shit. But some of my design ideas get used, which is nice. It is starting to get very dull though.
My job involves posting random messages on various messageboards.
My boss says it is to maintain the storeroom, but if that were true, then why did he give me my own office and a cable connection?
I work at Media Play. It fucking sucks. I need to quit. Badly.
Basically, it seems that since Musicland has been usurped by Best Buy, we've become a repository for any and all suggestive-selling products that come about through Best Buy's dealings with other companies. Replay, Netflix, XM Radio, Virgin cellular, EW trial subscriptions, extended warranties, reservations, Skip Doctors, storage and blank media... And each employee is given minimum expectations on how much of each we have to sell, which are ALWAYS ludicrous. The only people who are able to meet them are the most annoying goddamn people who basically get people to buy things only because they want them to shut up. The store looks like shit because these people don't do the tasks they're assigned (and yet they get more credit from management because of what they sell), and people like me (who actually try to make the place look nice) are often forbidden to do anything task-oriented in order to get our numbers up. Basically, we've become car salesmen, only at a dealer where no one comes in actually looking to buy a car. And the cars look like crap because the mechanics aren't allowed to work on them. And there's no commission if you actually convince someone to buy one, either.
What makes it so sad is that it used to be such a great job.
