As a martial artist, one STRIVES to be able to react to an attack on "reflex". I have on numerous occasions nearly counterattacked people who suddenly lunge at me- woman or no woman. My GF has learned to NEVER sneak up on me-

I've grown up with domestic violence for years. When you actually see this shit everyday (or week, or whenever he gets the wrong look or vibe from mom), you start to see that it's just not right. EVER.
Only thing dad ever taught me is how NOT to treat a woman, and it was learned through action, not discussion.

That's true most of the time, but some women are paranoid freaks and will lash out with almost no warning. Women who babble a lot about how they're going to hurt you I ignore. The quiet ones on the other hand......I've always got one eye on them. Not that they might attack me, but another woman. I work with some evil types and it gets ugly sometimes.
