Even the games that were farmed out have been pretty good or look good so far. Dimps is great (tho Sonic Pocket was better than Advance). ^Carat House^ made a brrrialliant rendition of Puyo Puyo. It looks like Monkey Ball Jr is on the right track...

Even Shinobi and Altered Beast might turn out ok. I am holding off judging them til they're complete. They might not be so bad.

Whoa, Sega Rally is coming to the GBA? I'm not interested in racers but that kinda surprised me.

And the fact that a majority of those games seem like quick ports of existing games makes me believe that Sega doesn't really care too much about the GBA platform. Oh well, when you play Shinobi and Altered Beast, let me know how disappointed you are in it. j/k :)

Tracer: I'll give you some of that, but, besides having products that are tough to market, Sega does a poor job choosing how and what to market. Case in point: What was up with that whole big marketing barrage surrounding Space Channel 5? It seemed to me (a total DC noob at the time) that Sega was present some fruity dancing game as it's killer app, and that didn't do anything for my interest in the console.

We can debate specific franchises all day long. Nintendo localized Advance Wars and Sega left SegaGaga in Japan.

Perhaps more of Sega's titles come over because they fit the American audience more? I hear a lot about how innovative Rez is, but it's pretty much Panzer Dragoon with neon lights. Not that I don't love the game.

Yup.. Sega Rosso is developing it and it's in full 3D. I am really looking forward to this. V-Rally 3 for GBA is amazing, and Sega Rally should hopefully be twice as good. I love Sega Rally. :)

Hehe.. well, I am not an Altered Beast fan so, I won't get that. As for Shinobi.. I dunno, it might be OK. The rest of Sega's lineup looks really impressive and all of the other Sega GBA games I have or have played are great.

Also, I am really looking forward to Sonic 2, Sega Rally, Shining Soul, Monkey Ball Jr, Space Channel 5, Phantasy Star Collection, and so on. Virtua Tennis might be good too, since it has the mini games intact. As a big Sega fan, I truly can't complain!

I wouldn't mind a new Alex Kidd or Wonder Boy tho'. :p

Well, I named myself after Segagaga and even I can\'t even fault Sega for that decision. I mean, I signed petitions to bring the game over and everything and I really would have loved an English version....... but they still would have sold about 500 copies if they localised it. :p

Thank goodness Nintendo finally broght over the Advance Wars series though, man that\'s a good game. I hope they finally bring Fire Emblem over as well.. those are the two Nintendo series I am most interested in (by a factor of several billion, no less)... so it\'s about damn time they brought them over. :)

This is exactly what Sega needs. It's like, besides Sonic, they completely forgot how to do platformers! The GBA's strength is in 2D sidescrollers, yet we get a 3D racer!? I just find it very odd...

Have you played Segagaga? If you did, you'd know why it was left in Japan. It was more like a homebrew game than a professional product. Localizing it for a dying system would have been just a waste, while localizing a potentially well selling game for the most popular 'console' on the planet doesn't seem that big a risk.

Well, I agree.. a new Fantasy Zone and a Phantasy Star V would be nice as well, to say nothing of developing some original titles...

But my point is just that the games they have made so far have all been really great, so while I'd love more and more good stuff, I honestly can't complain. :)

Besides, they can still make Sega Rally *and* a new Wonder Boy game. ;)

Sega marketing Space Channel 5?

I suppose that was probably stupidity on thier part, though I found it to be somewhat charming in a wierd way. Aesthetically, I think SC5 is a lot like the Dreamcast itself. The problem, I think, with Sega and SOA is that they can actually spot a good game when they see one (or that they listen to thier developers perhaps too much) and they make a lot of decisions to release and market games here based on that. SGGG is a crazy game with a really really cool concept, but it looks really bad and it fairly text heavy. As far as not localising Sakura Wars, well, perhaps SOA has heard of the well known industry no-no in relaseing dateing sims.

I can't even fathom why things are being done the way they are on GBA. I have to really wonder why this is thier apporach. I think Chu Chu Rocket was the only game from Sega on GBA that is actually published by Sega. Many of thier problems would be solved if they did things themselves - Sonic, Altered Beast (if you like it or not), Shinobi, Phantasy Star, Golden Axe, Vector(fucking)man and so on.
