Think again.

After the release of Super Mario Sunshine on August 26th, sales of the GC have gone through the roof. Reports indicate that in the first ten days of release, Super Mario Sunshine sold 350,000 units, a number that no other game has come close to in such a short selling period for a very long time.

Furthermore, due to the outstanding success of Mario, GameCube sales of increased over 50%. Having said that, for the ten days after Mario Sunshine was released in the US, the console ran neck-and-neck with the Playstation 2 and far-surpassed sales of Microsoft's Xbox.

Can Nintendo continue its momentum? Well, looking at the schedule of releases due this Fall, Winter, and next year, it would appear so. But only time will tell...

Mmm....Saw this one comming a mile away. Expect the same thing to happen with Zelda is release. I can't say the same for Metroid Prime because Im not sure what the average gamers interests level is for it.
