It's meant to be a discount for military personel that defend our country, since they get paid shit, so they can get some nice things cheaper. Not for civilians to drive down to the base and treat it like a mall.

Jeezus Rice, it's his frigging brother!
If it was maybe his friend from school letting him buy stuff, then you can bitch (although I still don't see the problem here), but it's his brother who has access to the stuff, and he can buy his little (or big?) bro whatever the hell he wants.
Let's argue about better things.
All y'all need to chill. The government is wasting your tax dollars on more worthless things anyway.
If I was Rich I'd go there every week.
rape that bitch blind... rather see kids getting cheap video games than g.w. getting another bomb to drop on a 3rd world civilian village.
I think the base is more than capable of deciding who can and cannot purchase things there.
You're right! They should get rid of those half-price games. Then I'm sure the government would lower your taxes accordingly.Quote:

On the other hand, the members of your military are voluntarily making mediocre wages and giving up their lives for you. Half price videogames only seems fair, right?Quote:
Can't say I'm thrilled about it. Thousands of people living below the poverty line in this country, and the government subsidizes TV sets and video games instead of more housing and food. That kind of prioritizing is pretty fucked up.
And you're always tired because you have obstructive sleep apnea. You are only getting half the normal amount of sleep at most per night. Have your doctor send you to a sleep lab.
The government also subsidizes those under the poverty line. Whether they do a good job of it or not is another matter. Personally, I would think it better off to the individual to give back to community rather than taxes bleeding it out of someone, and even then, the money may not even make it anywhere (or anywhere where the individual would want it to go if it were up to him/her as to where to do the 'giving').Quote:

I'm not placing the blame on Rich - the federal government is to blame, he is merely taking advantage of it.

Oh, and I guess any other perk at a governemtnal job is no big deal, right? I mean, when was the last time someone bitched about health, paid vacation, raises, and such as being unfair to the taxpayers?
Not everyone gets half-price electronics as a job perk. If there was any justice in this world, we'd all get daily deliveries of free food, games, and...erm, clothes. It's the least the government could do, considering I never see the money I earn for 5 months out of each year, as it goes straight into Uncle Sam's pockets.Quote:

Nobody puts a gun to your head and demands that an individual joins the military. You always have a choice (even if there is a draft). As for mediocre wages, I once made $3.75 an hour working at a freaking McDonalds as a teenager. I know what mediocre wages are, and the armed forces pay far more than what I was making. Not to mention the medical benefits and college money they give you. Ever see Mickey D's helping out their employees in a similar vein? Nope.Quote:

Now, back to Bangai-O! Man, level 25 is a doozy...
Did the customers at McDonald's ever try to shoot you?Quote:

If that's not selfish and short sighted, I don't know what is. Or perhaps you just preferred Adolf Hitler, Saddam Hussein, Osama Bin Laden, Al Quada, and any other terror there may be to roam the world, free to do as they please?Quote:

If you are drafted you go into the military. Period. Anything else is a federal offense.Quote:

We could just not have a military at all. Surely that'd free up a lot of money for other things. Like half off video games for everybody, or perhaps helping the poor as you suggested. For some reason I just don't think that'd work out very well.
