But if they make it based around the PS2's analog, and tweak the gameplay accordingly, it might turn out well... possibly?Quote:

It's all about personal preference.
No, it's not personal prefence this time.
If they tune the game to analog they will ruin it. RUIN IT!! It would be "GunValkyrie: The Fighters" if they did and the intrinsic nature and control of VO will be comprimised.
Simply put, GV already put analog stick through thier motions about as far as they can go. VO pushes ALOT harder. Any huge VO fan can attest.

so will this be a port of VO: force from the arcades?
does anyone have any screenshots?? i've yet to see this game..
I had a rough time with analogue triggers for the capcom fighters on dc (for 6 button games). I dread to think how analogue sticks are going to fuck up the controls for this game. An analogue stick is designed for 360 degrees, it's going to be hard to get the stick at just the right angle to do diagnals (for a game whose digital arcade sticks only have 8 directions) not to mention ruin the responsiveness of registering a direction based on whether you've pushed the stick far enough or not. It's going to be a nightmare.
I would pay money if they released a special joypad with 2 digital sticks made for this game. Hopefully they'll be an option to use the dpad (as left stick) and face buttons (as right stick) to control the thing.
Oh and has anyone who is against an xbox port of this game forgotten all about capcom's Tekki controller already? :D think of the possibilities. lol you'd only need to use a tenth of the features of the controller but it should be cool still.
Analogue sticks are good for large degrees of movement. You know, if you want to turn a little or a lot and you actually have time to gauge this.
Digital stick / pad is good for quick, sharp, percise movement.
VO series is all about the latter. I really don't see how it could be played well with analogue sticks. The control would be way too wobbly and impercise.
I agree with the consensus. New VO, woo! On PS2, boo!
I hope its really a new game since conversions from sega arcade hardware to PS2 have ranged from ugly to total crap thus far. Even if there was an Xbox port, it would suffer from being based in PS2.
Why are so many acting like the analog sticks can only accept input that is sensitive to analog? You can have simulated digital control mapped to them, it's all about how they choose to program them. Sega only has to give the analog eight directions to recongize and no differances for analog sensitivity. If you press in a direction, no matter how soft or hard, it'd give the same response.
GameHED: The face buttons/d-pad idea you suggested is horrible. The Saturn VO had that option and it doesn't work well at all. If no analog sticks made digital, the DC setup is the way to go.

It's NOT FORCE!!! HOLY CRAP!!! at least I think so. HOLY! CRAP!
AHHHHH and it gave absolutely no details whatsoever to what the game actually is.
I was hoping it would have some game footage but NOOOOO. But I concur that this is not VO:F and that it's an entirely different game completely designed for the ps2.
It's still possible to be a force port. But I now doubt that, this is just HOLY CRAP. Bah I have to tell Tain about this on the bus Imediately!
*Takes deep breaths* holy crap... HOLY CRAP! I want it to be a port of Force I honestly do, but it might not. Bah what I am saying it's more than mostly likely a port of Force, just changed and edited a bit for the PS2 hardware. I'm sure it's nearly the same game I hope so anyways.

Text in a VO game?? And it's definately not a VO4 port.
Look at all that brown. This truly has PS2 written all over it...
