It's Quake IV guys. Damn! I really thought it would be something original. I can't reveal my source yet because Microsoft had us delay it until either tomorrow or later this week and I don't want to get my source in trouble. Not confirmed, but from the sound of it, it will be this week if it's true. I don't really care, I'm just bored and wanted to post something, and if this is true, and Q4 comes to XB first, this will piss off PC gamers, and that makes me happy.

Vehicles, eh? That would be interesting...

How about focusing on some original weapons this time around?

from what i understood q4 is to use the doom 3 engine and was going back to an emphasis of single player...i also read the q4 will be finished before d3, but will be pushed back to prevent stealing d3's thunder...

Another Quake game.... wow... My joy knows no bounds at the release of this information. (not sure if my facetiousness is coming through well)

I know why. Because the last thing Quake needs is to become Halo. Quake should remain as fast-paced as possible, and the vehicles can do nothing but slow the game down.

I should press him on who his "source" is and threaten to get him fired. :evil:

But seriously, what kind of an asshole leaks secrets and expects friends to "keep it on the QT".

Amen to that. We have Doom III for slower-paced scary gameplay, Breed, Planetside, Tribes 2 and Natural Selection for squad-based gameplay with most of those having vehicles (and Halo too, but how big that might become is anyone's guess), which leaves what for fast-paced destruction?

id has made Quake the opposite of Doom III and it needs to remain that way, at least in multiplayer. If they want to dick around with vehicles in single-player, I'm fine with that, but leave it there. At least until mod-makers do something cool and different with it.

That said, that list posted sounds a lot like Planetside. Actually, aside from the number of races, it sounds exactly like Planetside. I'm pretty sure that list isn't for a MMO Quake, as Q4 is running off the D3 engine (stated by id) and D3 multiplayer is going to be initially limited to four players due to the stress of the engine (also stated by id). And those things don't jive together with a MMO game.
